Orange Essential Oil

Orange oil is produced from the peel of orange fruit. Orange is a citrus fruit and is a great source of Vitamin C. Orange tree is mainly cultivated in tropical and subtropical climates. Basically orange tree is cultivated for its fleshy fruits and its rind is peeled away as it is bitter in taste. The same rind contains the cells which produce the essential oil. The Orange oil is extracted as a by-product of orange juice and is composed mostly of d-limonene. Apart from limonene chemicals like Octanal, Myrcene, Linalool, Decanal and a-Pinene are also part of its composition. Undiluted orange oil is strong enough to melt the plastic.
