Feeling nervous, scared or a little intimidated by the demands of Bikram Yoga? No problem! Even certified Bikram teachers started their journey with jitters. Bikram designed this class for beginners, so with a little practice and experience, you will quickly feel right at home. Get the tips to help you kick-start the most wonderful yoga program in the world. And of course, it helps to bring a big bottle of water (available for sale at the studio in case you forget), a positive attitude and an open mind to your class. Finally, be prepared to sweat a bucket and have a great time!



For first–timers, arrive 20 minutes before class to complete your registration.
Remember your goal is to stay in the room for the whole 90 minutes.
Never be afraid to sit down when you need to.
Feeling dizzy, nauseous or light-headed is normal when you first get started.
Don’t feel self-conscious; it’s helpful to realise that people’s focus is on themselves.
Take your second class within 24 hours, although you may experience discomfort such as muscle aches.
Drink plenty of water after the class.
Yoga mats and bath towels are provided to all members.
